Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information KoreaKeys (koreakeys.com, “we”, “us”) handles, why, and what choices you have. KoreaKeys is run by Seho Kim in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and this policy is written to follow Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) while also explaining your rights if you visit from elsewhere.

The short version: we don’t ask you to create an account, we don’t run analytics or advertising trackers, and we don’t sell your information.

1. What we collect

When you visit the site

Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical data in server logs when you load a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you requested, the referring page, and the date and time. We use this only to keep the site running, secure, and protected from abuse.

We do not currently use Google Analytics or any other analytics service, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies.

When you email us

If you write to hello@koreakeys.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use this only to reply to you and, if you report an error, to fix the guide.

When you click an affiliate link

Some links on this site are affiliate links (see our Affiliate Disclosure). When you click one, you leave KoreaKeys and go to the partner’s website, which may set its own cookies to record that you came from us. We do not receive your name, payment details, or booking details. We only see aggregated reports such as the number of clicks and bookings. The partner’s own privacy policy applies on their site.

2. Cookies

KoreaKeys does not set cookies for regular visitors. WordPress sets cookies only for logged-in site administrators. Third-party sites you visit through our links may use cookies under their own policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

3. Why we use your information

  • To deliver the website and keep it secure (server logs)
  • To answer your messages and correct our guides (emails)

We don’t use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we don’t send marketing emails. If we add a newsletter in the future, it will be opt-in only and this policy will be updated first.

4. How long we keep it

  • Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security purposes, then deleted automatically.
  • Emails: kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up, and deleted within one year unless a law requires us to keep them longer.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it so that it can’t be recovered.

5. Service providers we use

We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do rely on a few service providers to run the site. They process data on our behalf:

Provider What they do Data involved
Hostinger Website hosting Server logs
Cloudflare Domain, DNS, and forwarding of emails sent to hello@koreakeys.com Emails you send us, technical routing data
Google (Gmail) Inbox where forwarded emails are read and answered Emails you send us
Gravatar (Automattic) Displays the author profile image Your IP address when the image loads

Some of these providers store or process data outside Korea, including in the United States and the European Union. We use them because they are widely used, reputable services with their own security safeguards.

We may also disclose information if required by law, for example in response to a valid legal request from authorities.

6. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • correct it
  • delete it
  • stop or limit how we use it

Email hello@koreakeys.com and we’ll respond within 10 days. If you’re in the EU, UK, or another region with its own privacy laws, you have the rights those laws give you, and you can also contact your local data protection authority.

7. How we protect your information

The site is served over HTTPS, administrator access is protected by strong passwords, and we keep WordPress, the theme, and plugins up to date. Because we collect so little, there is very little to expose, but no system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send sensitive information such as passport or card numbers by email.

8. Children

KoreaKeys is a travel information site for a general adult audience. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

9. Privacy officer and contact

Privacy officer: Seho Kim
Email: hello@koreakeys.com

If you are in Korea and are not satisfied with our response, you can also contact the Personal Information Infringement Report Center (privacy.kisa.or.kr, call 118) or the Personal Information Protection Commission (pipc.go.kr).

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, for example by adding analytics or a newsletter, we’ll update this page before the change takes effect and revise the date at the top.
